What People Say

So the kids absolutely loved the story telling format of teaching way more than the traditional teaching format. The book with its pictures and colours got them excited and they were proactively listening and engaging with the story. Teaching with this book is fun for both the kids and the teacher. Personally my observation was while teaching using the props (monkey soft toy and real leaves) and using the story it is easier to hold their attention towards the subject for a longer duration than what we experience in traditional ways of teaching. Learning through this book and the activity we did not only helps them learn but also brings them joy. Experiencing the learning through their senses (touch, see, smell, feel) makes them more curious about the object of study. Overall an absolute joy to see them get excited as the story progresses. Plus the story keeps them hooked and I believe the retention of the information shared via story is much more than the ways of teaching we have been previously using.

When I told the kids that today we will be hearing the story of a monkey and his new friend, the kids were really excited. They were very curious about the story and they learned a lot from it. I faced the problem that the kids were super excited to hear the story and had a lot to say and hence interrupting in between the story frequently, so the 15-20 mins story time stretched to a bit longer. But I am glad that at the end of the session they learned something new very easily and quickly, and I hope they remember when I visit them next week. So in conclusion, the book was a great success, and it was a very nice experience for us also to narrate such an informative story.

We implemented the book for the first time this Sunday. It was a wonderful experience, the kids were really excited at the prospect of hearing a story. We narrated the story in Hindi so that they would better understand it. This approach worked, as by the end of the lesson, the kids could identify the different parts of a leaf. The book transformed the children from not wanting to study at all and wanting to play to being really excited to hear a story and learn the parts of a leaf. The book fulfilled it's purpose and helped us make the kids curious and impart scientific knowledge through a story.

“Sun – Our Mighty Friend by Geran's JoynLrn is a wonderful, informative book, teaching kids about the Sun and its facts in a fun, storytelling and STEM method. It has a couple of activities listed which R enjoyed doing on his own. As soon as the book reached home, it was such a joyous sight to see R so engrossed in this book that he finished it in one go and was so eager to perform the activities mentioned. He thoroughly enjoyed himself doing the activity, asking questions and understanding it better through being hands-on. As this book is presented in the STEM method, it is quite thought-provoking for children and is also explained in quite a logical way, which is definitely something we all must be looking forward to inculcate in our kids. This book is such a treasure of knowledge that it would be ideal to start it young for children so that you can help invoke their curiosity and joy for learning. "Definitely recommended for all kids!"

I think the books are fantastic. I love the mixture of facts, diagrams, information and activities. Really like the Leefy loves that shows leaves up close showing the details of their veins and midrib. The washing soda activity looks great fun too along with the nature walk. The Bird book is excellent to great use of QR code for the activity video on YouTube. Mindfulness, feather focus too. These books would link in well with curriculum learning for 8 year olds plus. Best wishes Edd
